The Battery Brain

Have you ever had to get a jump-start for your automobile? If you have owned a car for longer than two years, chances are your answer is going to be yes. Sometimes we forget to turn our lights off after shutting down our engines. Other times, a stiff cold wind drains the battery of energy. Hooking your car battery up to a battery charger is a slow process, and even if you have motor club insurance, it can take some time to find someone to give you a jump-start. And when you do find someone to give you a jump-start, it can still take a while to recharge your battery depending on how much charge it has left in it.
All of these problems will shortly be a thing of the past with a new invention called the Battery Brain. The Battery Brain is a device that you hook up to your car battery, and it monitors the amount of charge that the battery has. When the charge drops below 11.8 volts, it disconnects the battery from your car. This allows you enough energy in your battery to start your engine.
Most people don’t consider this, but even with the lights off and the keys in your pocket, accessories like your analog clock or your radio draw energy from your battery. When your car is started, the alternator recharges the battery, restoring the small amount of energy that was used during the hours the vehicle was not in use. But if the energy drops below a certain level, you won’t have enough energy left in your battery to start your car. If you have ever left your car sitting for weeks before starts, you probably know what I am talking about. But with the Battery Brain, the battery will be disconnected and you will have enough energy left to start your vehicle and continue to your destination.
Incorporated into this new technology is the power to save your radio settings after the battery is shut off. To reconnect your engine to the battery, all you will need to do is push a button on the battery brain, or push a button on a remote depending on which version of the Battery Brain that you own. The Battery Brain will never disconnect your battery while the engine is running.
Once you have reconnected the battery, you should determine why the battery dropped below 11.8 volts in the first place. It could be any number of things, maybe you left you is parking lights on, or maybe it’s just an old battery and it isn’t holding a charge anymore. Another possibility is that the alternator in your vehicle is bad. To determine whether it’s the alternator, do this simple test. Once you have the engine running, remove one of your battery cables. If the engine instantly dies, your alternator is bad.
With the Battery Brain, you won’t need to flag down a stranger for a jump-start, and you won’t be left out in the hot sun or in the cold. It’s an amazing and simple device that no vehicle should be without.
